Salary Range: $69,560 - $94,939 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Manager of Systems & Applications is responsible for leading the implementation of infrastructure solutions designed by technical architects, with a strong focus on migrating on-premises applications and systems to the cloud and modernizing operational processes and toolsets. Success in this position requires advanced human relations skills and emotional intelligence, which are critical in the ongoing development of a high-performance team. The role demands extensive collaboration with ITS architects, Directors, and other Managers within IT to ensure a seamless transition to cloud-based services and innovative operational practices.
- Lead the migration of on-premises applications and systems to cloud-based platforms, aligning with the organization's strategic initiatives.
- Manage technical activities to ensure they are completed reliably, consistently, and in alignment with cloud migration goals.
- Oversee service requests according to service level agreements (SLAs), taking high-level ownership of all requests received by team members.
- Manage incidents and problems using agile methodologies that increase business value through continuous improvement.
- Develop and sustain a high-performing operational team focused on cloud-first solutions and modernized toolsets.
- Maintain and enhance internal and externally focused knowledge bases to support new environments and technologies.
- Monitor systems and applications using defined metrics, methods, and schedules, ensuring effective system integration and performance.
- Actively contribute to successful personal and team performance, including developing capabilities to support new technology standards.
- Participate in project teams as an effective team member, contributing to and successfully completing independent projects related to technological and operational modernization on time.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a focus on Information Technology or Business with an Information Technology focus.
- 8 years progressive experience managing people with 5 years in technology and/or IT service management.
Additional Strengths:
- Current Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation certification is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of service delivery standards, cloud migration strategies, and modern IT management practices.
- High-level understanding of technical areas within scope, including cloud infrastructure, system integrations, and cybersecurity.
- Well-developed communication skills to facilitate change and promote a culture of innovation.
- Proven record of developing successful teams and managing transitions to new technologies and processes.
- Flexibility in working hours, including participation in occasional scheduled on-call after-hours support, time-shifting, and overtime.
- Availability for after-hours emergency incident management.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a dynamic, collaborative team.
