The Manager, Real Estate Legal Services will be responsible for transformation within our firm-wide property team by leveraging our technologies and supporting a highly engaged and talented team. With a continuous improvement mindset, collaborative approach, and effective communication skills this role will drive change, innovation, and engagement.

Our firm-wide team approach has been an immense success within our Corporate and Litigation teams, and we are thrilled to be integrating this approach within our Commercial & Residential Real Estate Practice. We are bringing our people, processes, and technology to the forefront of planning, not just for today, but into the future.

Based in either the Halifax or Sydney offices in Nova Scotia the Manager, Real Estate Legal Services will oversee people management and operations while balancing some client work. With a natural ability to collaborate through exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, this role will support the team through continuous improvement initiatives. Reporting to the Managing Director, People & Culture, the successful candidate will support the firm's strategic goals using effective influencing strategies to build respect and trust.

The Manager, Real Estate Legal Services will work with the firm-wide team to build operational efficiencies within the property practice. Backed by the firms' extensive existing supports, they will oversee the day-to-day operations of the property team in areas of:

  • workforce planning;
  • resolving and troubleshooting roadblocks;
  • utilization of technologies;
  • process efficiencies;
  • professional development; and,
  • staying current on internal processes, policies, and procedures.

They will also support their direct reports through coaching and mentorship, being active in the recruiting and onboarding processes, leading goal setting, and creating a team and client-focused culture.

The ideal candidate will hold a J.D./Law Degree and have practiced property law for three to five years. They are a natural leader with proven experience in coaching, facilitation, and relationship management.
