NBCC is currently seeking a dynamic and competent Individual for the position of Manager of Internal Audit & RIsk.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Vice President Finance and Administration, this position also functionally reports to the Audit Committee of NBCC Board of Governors. The Manager of Internal Audit & Risk provides assurance regarding the effectiveness of College internal controls and systems as well as being responsible for internal audits and reviews of efficiency and effectiveness. This position is responsible for recommending continuous improvement which supports the College's mission as well as the development and maintenance of the College's risk management and business continuity frameworks.

This is a highly confidential and senior position requiring a high degree of aptitude, integrity, professionalism, diplomacy, judgement, initiative and the ability to work independently but collaboratively with units across the College. The successful incumbent will provide regular advice, challenge and/or facilitate management's decision-making; and as part of risk mitigation strategies and is responsible for the management of the College's insurance portfolio and claims management functions.

Qualifications

Required qualifications for the position include:

  • A Diploma and/or Degree in a related field.
  • Professional accounting designation or information systems auditor credentials.
  • Demonstrated analytical and planning skills.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Proficient with and demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Experience with post-secondary education.
  • 5 years relevant experience with financial or systems audit and risk management would be considered as assets.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $78,728 - $95,238 annually.
