Through our CUPAY Merchant Services program we are transforming how credit unions across Canada serve their business members and are looking for a Manager, Business Development to drive growth.

A TYPICAL WEEK:

The Manager, Business Development, leads the development and implementation of the CUPAY merchant services program strategy, and is the program ambassador responsible for identifying, nurturing and expanding national credit union business partnerships aimed at business development, program expansion and revenue growth. The role also provides leadership and direction to the LSM CUPAY team in the implementation of the marketing initiatives and sales enablement tactics.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Program Strategy: Lead the development and execution of the CUPAY program strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and credit union needs. Guide direct reports in sales enablement and marketing initiatives. Collaborate with leadership on setting KPIs, targets, and sales forecasts; monitor performance and make adjustments as needed. Stay updated on market trends and adjust strategy accordingly.

Business Development & Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with participating credit unions and identify opportunities for increased performance. Drive business development through partnerships and strategic relationships across the National Credit Union system. Negotiate partnership agreements and represent CUPAY at industry events to expand its presence.

Program Governance: Ensure financial controls, compliance with policies, and adherence to regulations. Support CUPAY team in developing policies and procedures. Report on progress.

Leadership: Supervise and guide direct reports in their delivery of tactical plans, ensuring compliance with policies, training, performance management, and development.

Company/Department Support: Contribute to the development and monitoring of the annual department budget. Take corrective actions as necessary to achieve business targets. Assist with additional duties and projects as required.

What you'll need

Qualifications

To BE SUCCESSFUL:

As the ideal candidate you will have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance, a professional accounting designation and have 6-9 years' experience in a senior financial accounting position (preferably in a financial institution), including supervisory experience; or have an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with projects involving the identification, selection and implementation of accounting and financial reporting solutions will be considered an asset.

COMPENSATION:

This is a one year contract position offering a competitive salary, bonus program and a benefits package that showcases our commitment to employee well-being (including flexible work arrangements, personal days, and even birthdays off).

LOCATION:

This position will be based in our Halifax, NS office, but provides services Nationally, and offers the ability to work remotely as required.

TRAVEL, EVENING AND WEEKEND WORK:

This position requires travel and occasional evening and weekend work.
