What you'll do
Responsibilities
Specific Skills
- Communicate with Operations Manager on a daily basis to advise of activities, problems and possible corrective actions.
- Operates a full range of machine shop equipment including drill press and horizontal cut off saws etc.
- Make recommendations that will help productivity in conjunction with maintenance employees and advise on a preventive maintenance program.
- Reinforce health and safety in maintenance department. Assuring proper tag and lock out procedures are followed as per the OHSA.
- Troubleshoot problems in a responsible fashion to keep production flow.
- May be asked to attend various departmental meetings.
- In the absence of the supervisor, work independently.
- Participate in the installation of equipment, and make modifications as needed.
- Perform mechanical activities on equipment, including inspection, lubrication, and replacement of parts.
- Perform other duties as assigned
