NBCC is currently seeking dynamic and competent individual for the term position of Maintenance Repair Worker at the Miramichi campus, for a term beginning October 2020 to March 31, 2021.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, you are responsible for performing building maintenance work involving carpentry; plumbing; electrical; ventilation, and heating systems; property maintenance; some custodial-type work; and other related tasks. Duties may include assisting trades people and staff; moving furniture and equipment; maintaining inventory; estimating costs; and other related duties as required. Occasional supervision of other staff may also be required. Regular hours of work are based on a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this opportunity include the completion of high school or GED and one to three years of experience in building, electrical and mechanical occupations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must possess good communication and interpersonal skills and thrive in a team environment. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive hourly wage for this position ranging from $20.35 - $20.94. This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Canadian Union of Public Employees collective agreement (Operational Services) for the College.
