Job Information and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Maintenance and Operations Manager, the Maintenance I will:
- Perform PM routines and performs trouble-shooting and repair to HVAC heating and cooling systems, and associated equipment.
- Work closely with any outside agency that is required to perform work on the above noted systems. Uses any such collaboration to enhance knowledge and trouble-shooting expertise.
- Assist the Controls Technician in performing preventative maintenance for the HVAC controls system.
- Establish a good working knowledge of all HVAC, heating and cooling schematics, drawings, and control logics within the complex.
- Assist other maintenance staff in PM, trouble shooting, and repair of refrigeration, HVAC, heating, cooling, and control systems, and associated equipment.
- Assist Boiler Operator clean and maintain the boilers, steam traps, chillers, and cooling towers.
- Respond to heating and cooling calls and makes adjustments and recommendations.
- Perform miscellaneous welding.
- Perform air-balancing checks to verify operation and makes adjustments as necessary.
- Perform snow removal and ice control and maintain log.
- Attend training sessions to keep up with technological changes in HVAC.
- Other related duties as may be assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements
To be the successful Maintenance I you will have:
- Technical or trade Mechanical school graduation or 4th class Stationary
- Engineering Ticket plus two (2) years' experience in a related mechanical field in a maintenance environment.
- General working knowledge of HVAC, and heating and cooling systems in a large facility.
- Ability to weld and work with mechanical tools and equipment.
- Teamwork: Ability to work in a team environment with a common purpose while maintaining positive working relationships with others.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in a positive manner conveying and responding to information.
- Customer Service: Ability to interact with customers in a positive manner while maintaining a positive working relationship and delivering quality service.
- Working Independently: Ability to work alone and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Initiative: Ability to take initiative in completing tasks with minimal instruction
