The International Development Studies Program at Saint Mary's University invites applications for an eight-month position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin September 1, 2019. The successful applicant will teach five one-semester courses (equivalent to a 3/2 or 2/3 load). The successful applicant should be able to teach third-year level contemporary issues in development; fourth-year Honours seminar; a regional specialization course on South-East Asia or Latin America, and two other special topics courses. Preference will be given to applicants specializing in critical and social justice approaches to development and the political economy of development. Applicants should hold a PhD (or be ABD and close to completion of the PhD), with demonstrated excellence in teaching and research.
