Under the supervision of the Information Literacy and Instructional Development Librarians, the Library Assistant IV assists in the development and delivery of information literacy services to the university community. (70%)

Under the supervision of the Reference and Research Librarian, the Library Assistant IV provides reference service to university patrons and the general public; instructs library users in the use of library resources. (30%)

Group affiliation for this position is with the Bargaining Unit 79. The position is evaluated at a Group 7 (salary scale $44,346 - 54,207). The Collective Agreement can be viewed here.

Qualifications

To be the successful Library Assistant IV, you will possess a University degree and Library and Information Technology (LIT) Diploma and a minimum of 2 (two) years of directly related work experience. Additional requirements include excellent attention to detail and accuracy, good working knowledge of an academic library and its resources, strong organizational skills, ability to function independently and as part of a team, and familiarity with computer applications in libraries, including applications such as LibGuides.
