Applications are invited for a Lecturer Stream appointment starting July 1, 2019. Candidates are expected to have at least a master's degree in Psychology (or equivalent), and an established record as a superior teacher. Faculty who hold appointments in the Lecturer Stream have the primary responsibilities of teaching and service. It is not expected that they engage in research, except to the extent that scholarship enhances their teaching or service activities. Applicants with expertise in all areas will be considered, but there is particular need for individuals who can contribute to teaching in areas such as cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and introductory statistics.

Responsibilities

Successful candidates are expected to teach 4.5 full credit courses per year (e.g., 2.0 during the fall and winter semesters, and 0.5 during the spring or summer terms). One or more courses may be replaced with other duties with the approval of the Chair and Dean. Candidates should present evidence, commensurate with experience, of their teaching ability, and the courses they are interested in teaching. As well as meeting their teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with other department colleagues, and contribute to the Department's programs. The successful applicant will join a 22-member Department, which includes one Canada Research Chair. The Department has an applied focus with major and honours curriculum (B.Sc. and B.A), a M.Sc. in Applied Psychology (Industrial/Organizational stream and Forensic Psychology stream), a Ph.D. program in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and a certificate program in Human Resource Management. Department members also participate in the CN Centre for Occupational Health and Safety and in the Science Faculty's M.Sc. in Applied Science program.
