Salary Range: $2,402 to $3,355 bi-weekly

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, Finance & Administration, the Lead for Accounts Receivable provides strategic leadership and support to the accounts receivable team by ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, resolution of queries, and reconciliation of student and customer accounts.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure proper prioritization of daily workflow for accounts receivable work requests from various College stakeholders.
  • Ensure periodic reviews of the policies and final procedures for consistency and efficiency.
  • In collaboration with the team, encourage and participate in implementing process improvement methodologies and ensuring proper documentation (e.g. process mapping).
  • In collaboration with the team, identifying and proposing new work methods to increase efficiency ensuring conformity with financial regulations and best practices.
  • Resolve any issues concerning accounts receivable (AR) with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the Cash Management function for the College including establishing workflows and procedures and liaising with Facilities Managers for completion of Cash Management duties.
  • Establish and monitor Bookstore year-end inventory processes and audit reporting requirements and ensuring compliance with established policies and guidelines.
  • Act as a key resource to Finance partners by providing relevant and meaningful financial information and data.
  • Maintain working relationships with internal customers, partners and/or vendors including responding to questions and/or concerns in an effective and timely manner.
  • Oversee and ensure appropriate use and access support for various systems.
  • Contribute to the execution or delivery of financial and/or special initiatives and programs as assigned
  • Lead a team to achieve business /operational objectives, maintaining effective day-to-day operations and delivering quality service and transaction processing consistent with NBCC's financial business objectives.
  • Monitor service delivery against standards and implementing actions to ensure service deliverables are achieved consistently.
  • Representing the team as the first point of escalation for internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll need

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Diploma/Degree in a related discipline and relevant years of experience.
  • Preference may be given to candidates who have a minimum of five (5) years of related experience with a minimum of three (3) years being supervisory experience.

Technical:

  • Demonstrated experience with client communications, facilitation of decision-making, documentation, managing client expectations, and team leadership.
  • Experience working in a post-secondary institution.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience working with Student Information Management Systems and Oracle.
  • Experiencing supervising staff would be considered an asset.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with the appropriate Designation/Certification.

Candidates must possess a valid Driver's License as travel will be required.
