The Opportunity
We are hiring an individual who lives by our corporate values of Heart, Integrity and Drive to fill the position of Junior Cash Accountant. The Junior Cash Accountant is responsible for accurate and timely accounting of all banking transactions, ensuring accuracy of data and compliance with internal controls. The role also involves communication and follow-up with Operational managers on a regular basis.
What you'll do
Responsibilities
- Check bank accounts daily for store deposits and prepare missing deposit reports to share with the Operations team
- Follow up and investigate when deposits are missing for several days
- Record bank transactions in Sage 300 including credit card, gift card and aggregator entries
- Reconcile bank accounts in Sage 300, and load bank reconciliation reports into Blackline
- Follow up on older dated checks, payments and other outstanding transactions in order to keep the bank reconciliations up to date
- Prepare audit working papers and respond to auditor requests related to bank deposits and bank reconciliations for year-end
- Other projects as assigned by Treasury Manager
What you'll need
Qualifications
- Accounting diploma, business degree or a minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge and capabilities in spreadsheets
- Good at problem solving
- Enjoys a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Excellent communication skills
