The Opportunity
We are currently hiring for an ISO Program Manager. This regular opportunity, in the Regulatory Compliance Services Department, has full time hours.
As an ISO Program Manager, you will:
- Develop programs and systems to improve the overall performance of water, wastewater, and stormwater systems and facilities to meet or exceed legislated and corporate environmental and safety objectives.
- Provide leadership to Halifax Water staff by coordinating and integrating cross-departmental projects, programs, and initiatives to ensure compliance and protection of employee and public health and safety and the environment.
- Lead and guide other departments and programs to obtain ISO certification or ISO ready status as required.
- Provide support and integration with the Comprehensive Emergency Response Plan, related initiatives, and ISO Programs.
To do this job, you need to have:
- Post-Secondary degree or diploma with a focus in Environmental Studies, Engineering Sciences, Water Resources or related discipline (suitable combination of formal education and experience may be considered).
- Minimum five years of progressively responsible related experience in a municipal and/or environmental field, including direct supervisory experience.
- Experience in conducting audits would be an asset.
- A Civil Engineering Technologist (CET), Professional Engineer, or other related designation.
- A Valid Nova Scotia Driver's License.
- ISO Internal Audit Training/Certification would be considered an asset.
