International enrolment has more than doubled this year and there are now students from more than 50 countries studying at NBCC. As the International Affairs Coordinator, reporting to the Director of International Education, you are responsible for supporting this growth by facilitating recruitment and settlement of international students, and ensuring a smooth transition and experience at NBCC. This position supports NBCC’s strategic direction by coordinating international exchanges, collaborating with internal and external support groups; and facilitating international project development, as well as other related duties.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include providing student and staff support, event coordination, web and social media contribution, tracking data, and conducting related research. The incumbent will attend education fairs and market outreach opportunities and have the ability to present to and liaise with diverse groups and partners in a variety of contexts. Travel (local and abroad) and irregular work hours (evening and weekends) will be necessary. Conducting research of needs and interests relevant to the international community will support funding proposal development and identification of international opportunities. This position works closely with international education agents who represent NBCC internationally.

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this opportunity include a diploma in a related field of study and five (5) years of related work experience, OR a Bachelor degree in a related field of study with a minimum of three (3) years related work experience. Related work experience must include experience in post-secondary education, and international educational programs and services. Knowledge of immigration regulations is essential. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Preference may be given to candidates who have proficiency in additional languages. This position is open to any NBCC location, however, upon successful qualification a preference may be applied for the position to reside in Fredericton.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $2,183 - $2,634 bi-weekly (or $56,578 – $68,484 annually). This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees (Education–Non-Instructional) collective agreement for the College.
