New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) is committed to transforming lives and communities. The College is currently seeking a dynamic individual for the position of Instructor at Springhill Institution in Springhill, Nova Scotia. This casual position will be from October 2022 to March 2023, with the possibility of extension.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Professional Learning, you are responsible for teaching students which includes planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and maintaining a positive learning environment; and instructing and evaluating students.

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Education degree
  • A Nova Scotia teacher's license
  • WHMIS and Basic First Aid
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal background check
  • The successful candidate will be asked to show proof of vaccination before an offer of employment is made

Preference may be given to candidates who:

  • Have minimum of three years of recent and related work experience
  • Have experience working in a correctional facility
  • Have experience teaching adult learners

Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these requirements on their resumes.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.
