The Opportunity

New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) is committed to transforming lives and communities. The College is currently seeking dynamic individuals for the part-time term position of Community College Instructor- Practical Nurse Program for the Academic year 2021-2022, with potential for extension. This opportunity will be based our of our Moncton, NB campus location. What you will be working on:

Collaborating with and reporting to the Academic Chair, Nursing as a member of the faculty team, you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.

Specific instructional areas may include, but may not be limited to:

  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Pathophysiology
  • Elder nursing concepts
  • Community nursing concepts
  • Medication administration
  • Nursing skills
  • Abnormal psychology
  • Medical terminology
  • Pediatrics and maternal newborn concepts
  • Interpersonal communication
  • Health care in Canada and healthy living

You will be required to teach students in classroom, lab and simulated clinical and actual clinical settings. You will also supervise students completing off-site clinical rotations. You will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree with 3 years of recent and related work experience or;
  • A Diploma of Nursing or License Practical Nurse with 5 years of recent and related work experience
  • Work experience must include experience in a medical/surgical acute care setting
  • You must be registered with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick or The Association of New Brunswick Licensed Practical Nurses or be eligible for registration
  • Preference may be given to those with teaching experience in a post-secondary environment
  • You will need to provide proof of immunization and criminal background check

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NBUPPE -Education ( Instructional) agreement for the College.
