The College is currently seeking a dynamic individual for the position of Community College Instructor - Medical Laboratory Technology and Medical Laboratory Assistant. What you will be working on:
Collaborating with and reporting to the Chair of Allied Health, as a member of the faculty team, you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.
Specific instructional areas may include, but may not be limited to:
- Core Lab expereince: hematology
- Clinical Chemistry including laboratory math
- Transfusion science
- Hematology
- Phlebotomy
- Urinalysis
- Point of care testing and instrumentation
- Medical laboratory assistant courses
- Interpersonal Communication
- Writing Skills
- Ethics
- Other course work as necessary
Responsibilities will also include ordering of laboratory supplies, scheduling of laboratory activities and classroom management.
You will be required to teach students (online or in classroom) in a didactic setting as well as lab and simulated clinical settings.You will also supervise students completing off-site clinical rotations. You will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.
What we are looking for:
- A diploma in medical laboratory technology or a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, and a minimum of five (5) years of recent and related experience in a hospital laboratory environment;
- Experience should include core and Hematology.
- You must be in possession of or be eligible for licensing from the New Brunswick Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists (NBSMLT)
- You must be an active, certified member of the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS)
- You will be required to provide proof of immunization and criminal background check.
- Preference may be given to candidates who have experience teaching in a post-secondary environment. Knowledge of the accreditation process to assist with program accreditation and experience in other areas of Medical Laboratory Technology will be considered an asset.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NBUPPE -Education (Instructional) agreement for the College.
