New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) is committed to transforming lives and communities. The College is currently seeking a dynamic and competent leader for a position of Community College Instructor in the Business and Advanced Analytics Program for the Saint John campus .

This is a term position for the period of October 2022 to June 2023, with the possibility of extension or becoming regular.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

You will be collaborating with and reporting to the Academic Chair, School of IT & Natural Resources. As a member of the faculty team, you will be responsible for the planning and preparation of instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.

Specific instructional areas and courses within the program may include but are not limited to:

  • Statistics
  • Advanced Excel
  • Python
  • R
  • Business Analysis
  • Cloud Computing
  • Other Related Subjects as Required

The successful incumbent will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, plus a minimum of three (3) years of recent and related work experience OR a Data Analytics/Data Science Certificate or Diploma and a minimum of five (5) years of recent and related work experience.
  • A Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or a related field and/or Industry Certifications in Business Analysis and Data Analytics would be considered an asset.
  • A working knowledge of MS Office is required.
  • Preference may be given to candidates who have experience teaching in a post-secondary environment.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.
