The Opportunity:

New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) is committed to transforming lives and communities. The College is currently seeking dynamic individuals for the position of Community College Instructor, Information Technology.

This is a 1 year term position, to be based out of our Moncton, NB Campus location.

Responsibilities

What you will be working on:

Collaborating with and reporting to the Academic Chair, School of IT & Natural Resources, as a member of the faculty team, you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.

You will be required to teach students in classroom, as well as virtually. You will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

Certificate or Diploma in Information Technology or Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related subject with a minimum of 5 years related work experience in Information Technology field or demonstrated IT experience in:

  • Windows Client Operating System
  • Windows Server
  • Microsoft 365 services
  • Performing procedures using scripting, Powershell, command line interface
  • Virtualization (HyberV, vSphere, VirtualBox)
  • CompTIA A+ Considered Assets:
  • Experience in Azure
  • CCNA Instructor Qualified
  • Experience in Java, C#, C++
  • Experience in SQL

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Preference may be given to candidates who have experience working in a post-secondary environment.

This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NBUPPE -Education (Instructional) agreement for the College.
