Salary Range: $2,058.00 to $2,900.00 biweekly (successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step, up to $3167.00 biweekly, based on their level of post-secondary education).

What you'll do

Responsibilities

You will be collaborating with and reporting to the Academic Chair of Arts and Community, as a member of the faculty team. You will be responsible for ensuring planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.

Specific instructional areas and courses within the program may include, but are not limited to:

  • Literacy Rich Environments
  • Curriculum Development
  • Outdoor Play
  • Pedological Leadership
  • Inclusion and Advocacy in Early Childhood
  • Interpersonal Communication
  • Multimodal Documentation

The successful incumbent will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices. You will also plan, evaluate and monitor student practicum placements.

What you'll need

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • A certificate/diploma in Early Childhood Education and/or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of recent and related working experience in a licensed Early Learning Centre.
  • The certificate/diploma/degree must be from a post-secondary institution recognized by EECD for the purpose of recognition of Qualified Educator status with NB Curriculum Framework - English.
  • Experience in the area of Early Childhood Education (ages 0-5 years old) and demonstratable understanding of NB Curriculum Framework is required.
  • Please refer to the Operator Manual: Full-Time Part-Time Early Learning Childcare Centres - Appendix 25: Educational Institutions with Recognized Early Childhood Education Programs.
  • Other related education or post-secondary will only be considered if Qualified Educator status with NB Curriculum Framework - English has been granted by EECD, OR a combination of education and the 90hr Introduction to Curriculum Framework - English.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience teaching in post-secondary environment in a blended delivery format.
  • Teaching experience an asset especially in the area of Early Education and/or equivalent industry area.
  • A working knowledge of MS Office is required.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.
