NBCC is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of Community College Instructor, Administrative Professional: French Second Language Training.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Department Head, as a member of the faculty team, you are responsible for ensuring planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.

The successful incumbent will have experience working within a bilingual administrative office with a focus on professional communication and administrative skills. The successful incumbent will instruct Anglophone students in English business courses and French Second Language courses (oral and grammar). The successful incumbent must be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices, be flexible in adapting to new technologies as well as instructing in a variety of subject areas. The successful incumbent must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to plan and organize effectively in a team environment.

Specific courses within the program may include, but are not limited to: English courses: Writing Fundamentals & Applications, Business Writing and Interpersonal Communication; French courses: Introduction to French, French Grammar (present and imperative tenses) and Oral French (conversations, services and descriptions).

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this opportunity include a two-year Diploma in Office Administration or Business Administration with a minimum of five (5) years of practical administrative experience; OR a Bachelor of Education Degree with a concentration in Business (Office Administration) and a minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated practical experience in an administrative office. Candidates must have scored a minimum of Advanced Plus on the New Brunswick Evaluation for French Language Proficiency.

Previous experience teaching grammar and oral French courses at a secondary and/or post-secondary level will be considered an asset. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.

Preference may be given to candidates with experience working in a post-secondary education environment. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $1,692 to $2,685 bi-weekly. Successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step, up to $2,932 bi-weekly, based on their level of post-secondary education. This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees collective agreement (Education, Instructional Group) for the College.
