New Brunswick Community College (NBCC)

Reporting to the Department Head, as a member of the faculty team, you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.

Specific instructional areas and courses within the program may include: Cisco Technologies (CCNA), Routers and Routing Basics, Routing and Switching, WAN Technologies, Microsoft Technologies: Windows, Active Directory Administration, Windows Server Administration, Exchange Server, Network Infrastructure and Design, and Security Administration, Linux/Unix Administration, and Business for IT Professionals. The successful incumbent will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.

Required qualifications for this opportunity include a diploma in information technology or a related field with a concentration in networking, and a minimum of five (5) years of recent and related work experience, OR a bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related degree with a concentration in networking, and a minimum of three (3) years of recent and related work experience. Experience must include the program courses listed above. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Preference may be given to candidates with experience teaching in a post-secondary environment as well as candidates who possess CISCO certification or CISCO instructor certification.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent.

Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $1,692 to $2,685 bi-weekly. Successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step, up to $2,932 bi-weekly, based on their level of post-secondary education. This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees collective agreement (Education, Instructional Group) for the College.
