NBCC is currently seeking a dynamic and competent leader for the position of Instructor in our Engineering Technology program.

This is a term position for the period of January 2023 to June 2024, with the possibility of extension or becoming regular.

Responsibilities

What you will be working on:

Reporting to the Academic Chair, as a member of the faculty team, you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.

Specific instructional areas and courses within the program may include but are not limited to:

  • Project management
  • Physics
  • Mathematics

The successful incumbent will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices. You may be involved in the planning, evaluation and monitoring of student practicum placements.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Civil/Electrical Engineering or diploma in Mechanical/Civil/Electrical Engineering technology
  • Recent and related experience
  • Candidates must be eligible to be registered as a professional engineer (P.Eng.), Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or Professional Technologist (PTech)

Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NBUPPE -Education (Instructional) agreement for the College.
