We are seeking a highly skilled, team-oriented individual to join our team as an Instructional Designer for a 6 month contact. Based out of our Fredericton, NB office while working from home, this role requires creative collaboration with our graphic design, multimedia, instructional design, testing, and editorial teams as well as managing external suppliers and engaging subject matter experts to deliver cutting-edge content for our clients. This opportunity is available immediately.
What you'll do
Responsibilities
- Working on the design and application of interactive techniques, including metaphor design, content mapping and visual elements.
- Interfacing daily with clients, C-level stakeholders, and project delivery managers.
- Taking a body of knowledge supplied by experts and turning it into cogent and compelling web-based training.
- Liaising with subject matter experts on content.
- Adhering to interactive and instructional design principles.
- Conducting and evaluating organizational and user needs analysis.
- Researching and writing instructional content.
- Ensuring content accuracy and appropriateness.
- Authoring and managing storyboards and scripts.
What you'll need
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline and a minimum of five years' experience in the knowledge management sector or related industries.
- Proven ability to understand the needs of an organization and identify creative solutions.
- Proven ability to engage with senior client stakeholders to determine the most effective course design that aligns with a client's organizational goals, strategies, and competencies.
- In-depth knowledge of learning methodologies and adult learning theories, instructional design theory, and design thinking.
- Exceptional presentation, communication (both verbal and written), facilitation and consensus-building skills.
- Strong storyboarding skills.
- Excellent conceptualization skills and a range of writing skills, including the ability to script for voiceover.
- The ability to be flexible, adaptable and work in a fast-paced environment, both individually and as a team player.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work with varied subject matter content with a diverse production team to meet challenging deadlines.
