Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Institutional Research, the Analyst provides reliable, accurate data to internal and external stakeholders to support decision-making. This role enhances timeliness, accuracy, consistency and accessibility of reported data and develops procedures and documentation in support of this function.

Responsibilities include receiving, prioritizing, assessing and clarifying information requests with internal and external stakeholders; leading and/or participating in consultative gathering of regular reporting requirements within a multi-stakeholder environment; planning, developing, and documenting methodology(s) to obtain, compile, analyze, and validate data from data owners; and, drafting of audience-appropriate reports for submission and approval. The incumbent will research and analyze data to meet stakeholder requirements and will be responsible for developing and reviewing existing processes, procedures, analysis methodology(s), tools and data definitions to streamline the collection and validation of College data.

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this opportunity include a two-year Diploma focused on business analytics and five (5) years of recent related research/analytical work experience; OR an undergraduate Degree with three (3) years of recent related research/analytical work experience. Candidates must demonstrate advanced skill in database construction and management using Microsoft Excel, Access SQL, and/or Microsoft SQL Server. Candidates must have experience working in team environments as well as independently.

Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Preference may be given to candidates who have experience working in a post-secondary environment. Knowledge and experience in post-secondary education data analysis, statistical analysis, and/or the use of business intelligence tools to extract data and build intuitive, interactive and actionable data visualizations to meet stakeholder requirements would be considered assets.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $43,862 to $61,308 annually.
