The New Brunswick Real Estate Association (NBREA) is a provincial association of REALTORS® working together to strengthen the standards of professionalism in the industry. NBREA regulates, advocates for and educates its members to advance the real estate profession and protect the public interest. One of NBREA's roles is to co-regulate the practice of trading in real estate within the province of New Brunswick in conjunction with the Financial and Consumer Services Commission (FCNB).
Under the supervision of the Director of Finance and Inspections, the Inspections Analyst plays a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and executing inspection procedures of all New Brunswick Real Estate agents (companies). This position demands meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, strong writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
What you'll do
Responsibilities
- Conduct full audit review of inspection files as submitted by inspection team after field inspections.
- Draft written inspection reports outlining the inspection outcome for final review and signature by the Director of Finance and Inspections.
- Maintenance of the list of all real estate agents operating in the province, ensuring that the agent's list is up to date at all times.
- Coordinate with inspection team to schedule review of agents that are new and/or agents that are closing.
- Communicate and coordinate with inspection team as required on particular files.
- Update and maintain inspection plan master worksheet.
- Update and maintain monthly trust interest income worksheet.
- Organize, maintain and scan inspection files (both paper and electronic).
- Assist with scheduling and tracking ongoing inspections and prepare agent folders as required.
- Conduct annual Risk Assessments of all agents.
- Assist with preparation of Annual Inspection Plan.
- Assist with the annual review of the Inspection Procedures Manual and the Trust Account Administration Manual (for Managers).
- Seek out ways to continually improve and find efficiencies in the inspection process.
- Other duties as required.

Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within established deadlines.
- Excellent technical writing and grammar skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, exercising tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to understand and compose official documents.
- Ability to understand and comply with strict guidelines defined by legislation, bylaws and procedure manual and make decisions based on guidelines.
- Process high standards of ethics and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Superior organization and prioritization skills to manage workload, with a level of flexibility to respond appropriately to unanticipated last-minute changes.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team.
- Demonstrated ability to apply professional judgement.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance and CPA designation with 5 years experience in a public accounting or auditing role. A combination of related education, professional experience and accomplishments may be considered.
- Knowledge of the real estate industry would be considered an asset.
- Experience with interpretation of legislation is required.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, in addition to experience working with database management software.
- Bilingual (French/English) considered an asset.

Working Conditions
In-person. Fredericton office location. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:45pm, however, overtime may be required depending on workflow and deadlines. Occasional travel may be required.
