The Shaw Group is one of Eastern Canada's leading manufacturers and community developers. We are seeking a motivated Inside Sales Representative to join our team, focusing on, but not limited to building supply dealers. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales and fostering strong relationships within the building supply industry. You will leverage your sales skills to promote our products, provide exceptional customer service, and achieve sales targets.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Sales Generation:

  • Execute inbound/outbound calls and emails with the goal of servicing the existing customer business.
  • Enter sales orders ensuring pricing and account accuracy.
  • Monitor order fulfillment and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Conduct after-sales service and respond to inquiries.
  • Collaborate with outside sales team to deliver superior customer service.
  • Work closely with the Field Representatives to continually learn more about product category and go-to-market strategies.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with building supply dealers through regular communication and calls.
  • Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products or solutions.
  • Resolve customer inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist in refreshing customer displays, attendance at trade shows, occasional travel to customer locations.

Product Knowledge and Training:

  • Become an expert on our product offerings and value propositions for Shaw Brick, Shaw Resources and Shaw Renewables.
  • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to potential and existing customers.
  • Provide training and support to dealers on product features, benefits, and applications.

Market and Competitive Analysis:

  • Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
  • Identify opportunities for product improvements or new product development based on market feedback.

Reporting and Administration:

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and transactions using ZOHO CRM software.
  • Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management review.
  • Collaborate with other departments (such as marketing and logistics) to ensure seamless customer experience and order fulfillment.
  • This position is to be based out of Lantz or Dartmouth

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • Proven inside sales experience, preferably within the building supply industry or related field.
  • Outgoing; excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong customer focus and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals.
  • Proficiency in Syspro ERP, ZOHO CRM software and MS Office suite.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to meet with customers (as required).
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of successful sales experience in a similar role.
