Salary Range: $63,275 - $82,258 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Director of NBIRDT, The Innovation Director - Data Trust (IDDT) is part of a dedicated team at NB-IRDT who works closely with the McKenna Institute on the development of the NB-IRDT Data Trust (DT). The position has administrative responsibility for the implementation and growth of the new Data Trust model for NB-IRDT. The Data Trust will extend the current mode and sphere of operations of NB-IRDT that provides ethical stewardship of data while promoting innovation and economic development. The IDDT will be responsible for leading and supporting the development of this new initiative. The position is subject to renewal based upon the success of the Data Trust.
- Provide strategic oversight and manage the implementation of the NB-IRDT hybrid environment and the Data Trust Action Plan, a roadmap for the growth and sustainability of the Data Trust (DT).
- Oversee all external subcontractors to best support the development of the technology platform, which can include the management of procurement processes on behalf of NB-IRDT.
- Collaborate with the NB-IRDT data and privacy team on a privacy-first data stewardship plan.
- Develop and execute a series of proof-of-concept projects in collaboration with partners in government, academia, and the private sector.
- Map relevant work plans and track milestones relating to the Action plan and proof-of-concept projects.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership of the McKenna Institute, NB-IRDT, the Government of New Brunswick and other external partners to meet and exceed project milestones.
- Collaborate with other members of the university community, where required, to meet and exceed project milestones.
- Provide bi-weekly reports to the Executive Director of the McKenna Institute and the Director of NB-IRDT on project status.
- Liaise with potential private sector partners to develop relationships beneficial to the Data Trust.
- Attend external meetings (or join committees) related to responsible data management both provincially and nationally.
- Regularly research subject matter pertaining to Data Trusts with the goal of becoming a data management thought leader.
- Coordinate and plan the Data Trust Advisory Committee meetings.
- Prepare annual reports documenting the Data Trust's activities.
- Identify challenges, delays and barriers to the project(s).
- Collaborate with the NB-IRDT Director, McKenna Institute Executive Director and other stakeholders problem-solve and troubleshoot complications, before and as they arise.
- Help maintain a calm, supportive and professional environment and approach when stakeholders experience challenges and/or delays.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Post-secondary education in a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of leadership experience is required.
- 3 to 5 years of project management experience is required.
- A combination of relevant experience, education and training may be considered.
Additional Strengths
- A Master's Degree is considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge and/or experience in data management is considered a strong asset.
- A PMP qualification is considered an asset.
- Experience navigating legal compliance frameworks and thorough understanding of data privacy legislation is considered a strong asset.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset.
