Are you interested in joining a global leading ocean technology company in growth mode? We are seeking the services of an experienced Human Resources Manager to work closely with our executive team while providing services to over 200 employees in six countries.

Headquartered in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for the full spectrum of personnel services throughout the organization. With particular focus on talent attraction and development, and an understanding of how to bring the best in people in an ever-changing environment, the successful candidate will be someone who has senior-level human resources experience which would typically have been enabled through progressive generalist roles over the course of several years.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • The Human Resources Manager initiates, develops, implements and administers new and existing plans and programs involving the following:
    • Workforce Planning and Organizational Design
    • Recruitment and Selection
    • Performance Management and Succession Planning
    • Employee Relations
    • Employee Engagement
    • Total Rewards
    • HR Information Systems
    • HR Leadership
    • Training and Development
    • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Proactively collaborate with management and employees to better understand business needs and provide insight for new policies and practices
  • Provide counsel to managers and employees on execution of policies and day-to-day practices to ensure consistency, team empowerment and business effectiveness
  • Creating a collaborative atmosphere, providing guidance, training and motivation as necessary.
  • Approach HR functionalities with a mindset for continuous improvement; maintain HR data, reporting and trends that can be applied with an aim to impact change

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate has 5 years of experience in a senior human resources role
  • Graduation from an accredited post-secondary institution with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Labour Relations or Business Management. An equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered
  • Experience working in all areas of human resources
  • Demonstrable knowledge of labour, human rights, occupational health and safety, and privacy legislation.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of employment law
  • Experience with multiple locations and varying related legislation is considered an asset
  • Approachable with the ability to adapt to the needs of others and build trusting relationships with the team, partners, and external suppliers
  • CPHR/CHRP designation and master's degree in applicable field are considered assets.
