Our local industrial Halifax based client has an immediate opening for an experienced Human Resources Manager to join their management team. Reporting to the owners and working closely with VP Finance, you will be responsible for all Human Resource functions of this well established company. This is a fast paced, blue collar environment with a tremendous opportunity to utilize all your H/R skills.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Manage all Human Resources functions for the head office and it's three field offices including;
  • Payroll, WCB Files, Group Benefits administration, recruitment, Health & Safety, etc;
  • Plan, develop and implement recruitment strategies;
  • Oversee development of communication strategies;
  • Oversee the classification and rating of occupations;
  • Manage contracts; Manage training and development strategies;
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures;
  • Assign, co-ordinate and review projects and programs;
  • Organize and administer staff consultation and grievance procedures;
  • Oversee payroll administration;
  • Liaise with management, union officials and HR consultants;
  • Advise senior management;
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
  • Work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail with a large workload.

We need a well rounded Human Resources Manager. A flexible team player with excellent verbal and written communication. Someone who shows exceptional judgment and organizational skills.

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • University or College Degree or Equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources and or Management
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP)
  • Preference will be given to someone used to working for a private company or within a blue collar environment.
