Reporting to the Group Vice-President of People and Communications, this position will play a important role in supporting the day to day People operations across the Crosbie organization. The position will be responsible for a variety of activities including:

  • Providing hands on support to employees and managers in a broad range of areas including recruitment; onboarding; resource deployment; training and development; collective agreement/contract interpretation; and performance coaching and management;
  • Supporting the development, review and successful delivery of HR programs and policies across a variety of Human Resources and Employee Relations functions;
  • Liaising with external clients regarding collective agreement, contract and other labour related issues, as well as providing recommended actions to the Group Vice President, People and Communications to resolve submitted complaints and grievances;
  • Providing support to employees and managers to address work and other issues, including referral to the appropriate EFAP services when required; and
  • Providing conflict resolution and/or mediation assistance when requested or required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Action oriented mindset and focused on delivering timely and practical solutions to internal and external clients;
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with sharp attention to detail;
  • Effective organizational and execution skills, with an ability to prioritize multiple demands in a fast paced environment and deliver in a timely and professional manner;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Proven ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment;

Further to this, s/he should possess the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in human resources, labour relations or other relevant discipline;
  • 5-7 years' experience in a human resources and/or labour relations role,
  • Strategic Human Resources skills and change management experience in a growth-oriented company;
  • Experience in oil and gas, construction and/or union environments would be considered an asset;
  • CPHR designation would be considered an asset.

Combinations of relevant education and/or experience will be considered.

Please note that this is a temporary, contract, position for an estimated 12 months.
