As the Human Resource Manager at Mrs. Dunster's you will be a valued member of the Leadership Team whose primary role is to drive and implement human resource initiatives, programs and policies in support of the operations and overall strategic vision of Mrs. Dunster's. You will be working as part of a growing locally owned and operated business in an environment that values honesty, reliability, respectfulness and strong work ethics. This role is perfect for an adaptable leader who thrives in the complexities of multiple locations, a diverse workforce, and an everchanging environment.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in the development, recommendation and administration of the company's human resource practices, policies and procedures
  • Provide a full range of human resources services (organizational effectiveness, change leadership, facilitation, coaching, conflict resolution) and keep informed of regulations affecting all aspects of human resources
  • Become the main communication conduit within the organization
  • Identify people risks and proactively develop mitigation plans to address and/or minimize impact on the company and its operations
  • Support the development and periodic reviews of an employee handbook, job descriptions, onboarding and orientation programs, termination and exit programs, and employee contracts
  • Take the lead on recruitment, attraction and retention, and recognition programs in collaboration with the Leadership Team
  • Be an engaged and supportive leader who interacts with employees and fosters a positive work environment that nurtures the excitement for growth and change in a very diverse, multi-faceted organization
  • Build effective working relationships with employees, providing counsel and guidance on a broad range of issues, particularly related to workplace culture and productivity
  • Foster the development of others, facilitate teamwork and cooperation, and aid in the constructive resolution of conflicts

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree/program in human resources, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Minimum of five years' experience in similar HR generalist or HR business partner role
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation, or working toward designation, considered an asset
  • Effective interpersonal skills and proven ability to exercise sound judgment, tact and discretion
  • Enthusiastic, self-directed individual with the ability to motivate, build relationships, effectively resolve conflict and work collaboratively with employees
  • Ability to coach employees and managers through difficult situations and support them through change while creating alignment with organizational goals and objectives
  • High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information
  • Excellent organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Some travel required
