Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Medavie Health Services that manages and operates ground ambulance, air medical transport and the medical communications operations in Nova Scotia through a performance-based contract with the provincial government's Emergency Health Services (EHS) division and the Department of Health and Wellness. As well, EMC operates TeleHealth 811 Mental Health and Addictions for Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island for the Department of Health. 

EMC delivers a high-quality pre-hospital care program and Telehealth service to Nova Scotians each and every day. We achieve this through the more than 1,400 employees who work with us including highly-trained paramedics, nurses, medical communication officers and support staff.

Nature and Scope:

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Recruitment Consultant provides coordination of the full recruitment experience providing advice and support on all HR policies, procedures, and practices.

The incumbent will be an ambassador for the Medavie/EMC/EHS brand and culture and proactively builds community and professional relationships and execute creative and innovative sourcing strategies. The incumbent will have a strong focus on understanding the marketplace to source top talent and meet future staffing needs.

The successful candidate will establish recruitment expertise and trust within the Human Resources Department and with all levels of management and all employees in a positive manner. This is achieved by maintaining effective working relationships with all and by demonstrating technical and professional expertise. This also includes reliable advice and delivery of quality service while ensuring a consistent application of Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, services and collective agreements.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

· Accountable for the entire recruiting life-cycle from candidate presentation to offer acceptance;

· Ensures effective recruitment, transfer and hiring methods, position requirements, orientation, policy and procedures, collective agreements and job postings are all met accordingly.

· Partner with hiring leaders to build effective sourcing, assessment and closing approaches with an ability to manage client group expectations through a deep understanding of their staffing needs;

· Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of potential candidates through pro-active market research and on-going relationship management;

· Leverage external networking and professional associations to reinforce career opportunities

What you'll need

Qualifications

· Post-secondary education with relevant education in Human Resources (HR major, certificate, or diploma)

· Three to five years' recruiting experience in full life-cycle environment, including management of multiple high-volume roles simultaneously

· Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation is an asset

· Social Media savvy and have the intuitive nature to seek new sourcing options and develop creative approaches to finding talent

· Detail oriented with superior follow-up and proven ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment

· Experience with virtual/remote hiring and onboarding

· Experience with international hiring would be considered an asset
