People & Culture is comprised of professional human resources, employee relations, and administrative employees. We provide services for employment, salary administration, employment equity, benefits and pension, staff relations for support and academic staff, leadership development, job evaluation, analysis and reports, and policy development.

Salary Range: $53,301 - $72,644 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the HR Manager (Recruitment & Compensation) the HR Generalist assists in various aspects of the People & Culture office. This position will play a critical role in supporting the planning, execution, and coordination of HR projects and initiatives.
- Process employee extension letter requests.
- Advise departments on appropriate paperwork needed for various HR related scenarios.
- Provide administrative support in the development and delivery of talent solutions, projects and programs.
- Provide SharePoint support for the People & Culture unit.
- Assist with Progression-through-the-range (PTR) increases by using Access databases.
- Maintain various spreadsheets for the Recruitment team.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of HR projects, including system implementation, upgrades and enhancements.
- Coordinate project activities and dependencies to ensure smooth execution and timely completion of project milestones.
- Work with the team to complete the Federal Contractors Program reporting and gathering of workforce data.
- Generate ad hoc reports and data analyses to support project decision making and troubleshooting efforts.
- Assist in the development and delivery of user training materials and resources for HRIS end users.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of system documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Technology or a related field.
- Diploma in an HR program will also be considered.
- 1-3 years experience working in an HR environment.
- Previous experience working on projects or within an administrative role, preferably in HRIS or IT project environments.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Strengths:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access.
- Detail orientated mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality in work.
