Aurora Energy is currently seeking a Health and Safety Superintendent.
The Opportunity
Accountable to the Exploration Manager, the Health and Safety Superintendent is vital to achieving our safety objectives while maintaining operational efficiency. This role will lead our safety programs, fostering a team-focused approach to ensure every individual contributes to and benefits from a culture of safety excellence. The Health and Safety Superintendent is responsible for designing and implementing proactive safety programs, delivering interactive training, and conducting team-based risk assessments to address safety challenges. The role also includes managing incident investigations to drive improvement, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and tracking performance metrics to promote accountability. Engaging teams in continuous improvement activities and leveraging their input is key to enhancing safety practices and achieving excellence.
Who You Are
As an ideal candidate, you will first and foremost bring a deep awareness and respect for the Inuit Peoples and land of Nunatsiavut Labrador. You possess relevant safety certifications, such as CRSP, and have strong knowledge of safety standards and regulations in mineral exploration. You have exceptional interpersonal skills to inspire and engage teams, a collaborative problem-solving approach, and the flexibility to work in remote locations and travel to field sites.
Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of health and safety management experience, preferably in mining or mineral exploration.
