What you'll do
Responsibilities
Acadia seeks a part-time Head Coach, Women's Soccer in the Varsity Athletics department to lead and develop an exciting and competitive soccer program. The Head Coach will:
- Coach, administer, manage, and promote the Acadia women's soccer program.
- Create an atmosphere that is conducive to a positive student-athlete experience.
- Organize and conduct practices and prepare the team for competition.
- Develop a team culture that reflects positively on Acadia and is in line with the Department of Athletics values, which promotes and encourages an environment of responsible conduct and behaviour of your student-athletes.
- Coach, in addition to the in-season program, effective pre- and post-season development and training programs.
- Apply current AUS/U SPORTS rules and eligibility policies.
- Encourage high academic performance by regularly reviewing academic standing and eligibility in line with the AUS/U SPORTS standards, as well as arrange academic support through Acadia's resources, if necessary.
- Manage the team budget.
- Other complementary duties, as assigned.
What you'll need
Qualifications
- We are seeking candidates who possess an undergraduate degree in a related discipline, along with administrative and teaching skills.
- Experience working with high-performance athletes and/or in a university setting is considered an asset.
- Completion of National B License or equivalent and CAC Safe Sport Training.
- Exceptional organizational, management, and communication skills are required, as is knowledge of AUS and U SPORTS regulations.
