What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Dean of Distributed Learning, the Multimedia Content Developer is responsible for creating multimedia products using a variety of software programs (MS PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Creative Suite, Crazy Talk and Powtoon). Key responsibilities will include manipulation and editing of digital imagery and video; applying interactional design and interactive learning principles to instructional solutions for adult learners.

The Multimedia Content Developer will also have experience in building audio/video compositing, shooting video and understanding lighting. They will know/understand and be able to build 2 and 3D animation.

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this opportunity include a Diploma in Graphic/Multimedia Design or related discipline and 3 years of recent and related professional experience; OR a Degree in Graphic/Multimedia Design or a related discipline with 1 year of recent and related professional experience. Related professional experience must include coordinating work on multiple and varied design projects; providing input in art direction and concept design in a collaborative creative team environment; Your expertise must include working with Adobe Creative Suite and other design software applications and tools, working on the Apple/Mac system and platform; working with image optimization and photo retouching; and proficiency in typography. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Candidates are required to submit samples of their work as part of their application.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Preference may be given to candidates with related experience in a post-secondary environment.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $41,184 - $57,486 annually.
