The Department of Financial Services at Mount Saint Vincent University invites applications for the position of Financial Analyst.
Classification: Full-time, MPA Level 2 Position
Starting Salary: $53,082 per annum (Step Progression: $53,082 to $64,582)

What you'll do
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning & Control, the Financial Analyst will provide support to the department including financial reconciliation, analysis and reporting.
- Reconciles all bank accounts and conducts ongoing analysis of bank transactions as required.
- Processes of all wire transactions and recording of related journal entries.
- Prepares the monthly GST/HST returns for CRA and all HST self-assessment.
- Reconciles accounts payable on a weekly basis.
- Reconciles various accounts and preparation of journal entries as required;
- Provides support for annual audit preparations.
- Works with departments to respond to inquiries and complete budget transfers as required.
- Serves as back-up for Accounts Payable/Payment processing.
- Performs various financial and budget analysis required by the Manager on a daily basis.
- Performs other duties from time to time
What you'll need
Qualifications
Candidates must have completed a Bachelor of Business Administration/Commerce with a major in Accounting and have a minimum of three years related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Effective communication and inter-personal skills are essential. A high level of attention to detail and efficient time management and priority setting skills are also prerequisites for this position. Candidates must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in excel and use of technology to conduct financial analysis in the most efficient manner. Experience in using business enterprise systems for finance is required. Supporting these skills is a strong commitment to excellent customer service.
