The primary purpose of Student Affairs & Services (SAS) is to support students in achieving their academic , personal, and life goals. Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 7:45 am - 4:00 pm | 36.25 hours per week
Additional Working Conditions:
- Additional hours during peak times and for after-hours commitments is required.
Salary Range: $24.42 - $28.90 per hour
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Director, Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Coordinator is expected to maintain deep familiarity with the ever-evolving government student loan regulations, policies, and procedures and other programs, internal and external, that provide funding to post-secondary students.
- Act as the "first contact" person with current and prospective students, parents, donors and government/external loan agencies.
- Review and assess eligibility of applications for financial aid, determine approval and amount of aid and arrange for disbursement.
- Advise on financial aid programs and options.
- Provide expertise to students as they complete student loan applications, assessments, and appeals.
- Provide students with information on resources available to them within the university and the outlying community.
- Recruit, hire, and supervise student staff representative of the student body to support the work of the Financial Aid Office.
- Design and instruct job training curriculum.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to develop, implement, present, and evaluate programming and initiatives that foster financial literacy.
- Maintain department web presence and produce materials to promotes services and resources available to students.
- Ensure timely, helpful response to inquiries from students, university personnel, government loan agencies, banks, and the general public.
- Research, collect and analyze data.
- Write, and contribute to reports on behalf of the department and create and offer presentations.
WHAT YOU BRING
- An undergraduate degree.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience preferably in a post-secondary environment.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

- Experience in independently researching; gathering and analyzing data; summarizing; creating reports and recommending solutions.
- Proficiency with databases and Office 365 software.
