NURSING & HEALTH SCIENCES
The Department of Nursing and Health Sciences offers Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Health Science degrees. It offers 4 paths to complete a Bachelor of Nursing degree: a 3-year BN (3-terms /year), a 4-year BN (2 terms /year), an LPN Bridge program and an LPN Bridge work/study program. It has 23 faculty members with clinical and research expertise in a variety of nursing specialities, including acute care, community, maternal/child, and geriatrics. Its Bachelor of Health Sciences degree is offered in the areas of respiratory therapy and radiography in collaboration with these specialty educational partners.

Salary Range: $45,884 - $57,355 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Chair Nursing & Health Sciences, the Finance & Projects Coordinator oversees activities related to accreditation, departmental budget and program support.

  • Manage departmental budget. Prepare budgetary and annual progress reports for program funding agencies.
  • Analyze financial data to provide direction and support to the Chair of Nursing and Health Sciences.
  • Prepare financial reconciliation statements, invoices, and reports for external partners.
  • Create quarterly forecast and meet with Resource Planning & Budgeting to provide updates on financial performance.
  • Assist in preparation of budget submission for all departmental operating, research, and non-space and capital accounts.
  • Manage program accreditation and review processes required by associated regulatory bodies.
  • Manage organization, submission, and onsite assessment (every 5 years) of regulating bodies.
  • Monitor and report to Chair achievement of departmental strategic goals.
  • Manage department social and mainstream media. Coordinate communications activities.
  • Prepare funding and program development proposals and required ongoing reports. Maintain records of these activities.
  • Prepare department committee packages. Act as recording secretary to the department and other committees; create, disseminate agendas, minutes, and other related materials.
  • Complete and maintain clinical site and other agreements with clinical and other partners.
  • Design and implement systems for information processing and tracking as required.
  • Support Faculty Lead in non-4YBN programs.
  • Provide aid and/or support to faculty and staff, as necessary.
  • Projects and other duties, as assigned by the Chair.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Post-secondary Diploma in Business Administration, with concentration in bookkeeping/budgets.
  • Minimum three years of related experience in office management, budgets, and records management responsibilities.

Additional Strengths

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, with concentration in Accounting is an asset.
  • Critical thinking skills to keep up with complex and fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent computer and analytical skills, with knowledge of MS office products and social media platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, administrative and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing work demands.
  • Ability to work independently and without supervision, and to use independent judgement to make decisions.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well as a member of a team.
