The Office of Experiential Education

The Office of Experiential Education provides leadership and strategic direction for UNB's Strategic Plan - Toward 2030. In collaboration with external employers, funders, & partners, we create, strengthen, and support experiential learning opportunities for all UNB students. Our mandate is to improve the quantity and quality of experiential learning opportunities for students in all faculties at UNB.

Salary Range: $49,402- $61,751 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Director, Experiential Education, the Experiential Systems and Platform Strategist is responsible for the bi-campus implementation and support of the ExperienceUNB (Orbis Outcome Plus) platform, which facilitates the management, tracking, and reporting for experiential learning opportunities at UNB. The ExperienceUNB platform has over 20,000 active student accounts, over 3,300 active employer accounts, and over 300 active staff/faculty/admin accounts. Responsible for coordination of reporting requirements for internal and external partners.

  • Act as UNB's lead administrator on the ExperienceUNB platform.
  • Liaise with Orbis Communications regularly to remain informed about software updates and new features.
  • Participate in training and professional learning as required to maintain a superuser level of capacity with the ExperienceUNB platform.
  • Create and communicate policy and process documents to all users of the ExperienceUNB platform.
  • Maintain UNB's databases of active student, faculty/staff/admin, and employer contacts.
  • Develop, communicate, and uphold privacy and confidentiality practices in alignment with UNB policies.
  • Create and distribute email campaigns for internal and external users.
  • Develop, launch, and maintain the ExperienceUNB Experiential Catalogue & Experiential Record.
  • Create and develop ExperienceUNB user manual/guidance documents which include standard operating procedures and ethical use protocols.
  • Collaborate with all faculties, departments, and units at UNB to develop protocols and software modules to facilitate management, tracking, and reporting on experiential learning programs at UNB.
  • Onboard new programs to the platform by creating implementation strategies and processes for new and existing experiential learning programs.
  • Liaise with experiential learning staff in all UNB units and departments to introduce and showcase the platform to potential new users.
  • Provide support and training to all users of the ExperienceUNB platform.
  • Develop, maintain, and update the ExperienceUNB Support Centre.
  • Create and maintain software ticketing and issue escalation processes for all users of ExperienceUNB.
  • Support the Director, Experiential Education in meeting UNB's strategic targets, metrics, and goals related to experiential education.
  • Develop data collection and reporting protocols.
  • Create and operationalize growth and sustainability plans for the ExperienceUNB platform.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A University Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience using CRM web-based database systems.

Additional Strengths

  • Experience with experiential learning software systems such as Orbis is considered a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with experiential learning programs is considered a strong asset.
  • Technical aptitude.
  • Ability to understand and communicate the capabilities of the Experiential Learning software (administration, configuration and customization), including strategies and deliverables required for successful implementation and end-user adoption.
  • Ability to work with databases to extract and analyze data.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-campus environment.
  • Ability to address a wide variety of audiences.
  • A willingness and aptitude to continually learn new, or upgrade current, technical skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Ability to meet firm deadlines and provide quick and accurate responses to requests.
