Position: Enrolment Officer, Sobey Grad Programs (One Year Contract)

Department: Sobey School of Business

Annual Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 + 4% in lieu of vacation

Under the direction of the Manager, Sobey Grad Admissions, the Enrolment Officer, Sobey Grad Programs is responsible for aiding in the development and implementing an ongoing operational strategy for ensuring that the goals and objectives of the Sobey School of Business Graduate Programs' domestic recruitment initiatives are met. The Enrolment Officer will work closely with recruitment and other personnel from the Sobey School, Admissions, and FGSR; will assist the Senior Recruitment Officer and other personnel with visits, career fairs and campus tours as needed; will act as a liaison between academic and non-academic departments and offices providing information on graduate programs at the Sobey School and Saint Mary's; will develop and coordinate domestic recruitment opportunities and business partnerships; maintain existing relationships between the Sobey School and the University, plus national institutions and other domestic stakeholders and is primarily responsible for overall promotion of the Sobey School.

Responsibilities

Duties as the Enrolment Officer, Sobey Grad Programs include, but are not limited to:

  • Attending domestic recruitment events on behalf of Graduate Programs.
  • Participating in the creation of an annual domestic recruitment plan.
  • Monitoring and replying to incoming communications about the suite of graduate programs.
  • Supporting the Manager, Sobey Grad Admissions in facilitating accurate and timely processing of applications.
  • Meeting with prospective students one-on-one on and off-campus to discuss program options.
  • Attending on-campus recruitment events.
  • Hosting information webinars for prospective students.
  • With the Director's approval, and input from Program Coordinators, Communications Officer and recruitment office, recommending and assisting in outlining communication strategies to key stakeholders.
  • Actively participating in promotional activities and making suggestions for improvements (e.g. direct mail, multimedia, etc.).
  • Providing suggestions and helping to create and edit content for program webpages.
  • Coordinating calling campaigns to prospective and newly accepted students.
  • Coordinating visits; arranging calls after hours, if need be; setting up next day's appointments; preparing training materials, etc.
  • Acting as the lead on prospective student CRM software ensuring and accurate and up to date database and creating reports to meet strategic enrolment management goals.
  • Monitoring and responding to questions through Sobey social media channels about graduate programs.
  • Supporting recruitment and admissions processes for MBA, MBA (CPA Stream), MAE, MTEI, and MFin programs.

What you'll need

Qualifications

To be the successful Enrolment Officer, Sobey Grad Programs you will possess an undergraduate degree with a graduate Degree preferred and a minimum two (2) years of recent and related experience. You demonstrate an ability to work with diverse groups in a cross-cultural environment along with a knowledge of recruitment practices and familiarity with recruitment technology. Strong organizational and team building skills; strong oral and written communication skills; and strong computer skills are all necessary. A willingness to travel extensively throughout the year is required along with a willingness to work in the evenings and on weekends when workloads and deadlines dictate. Commitment to exceptional customer service is a must as well as the ability and willingness to contribute to a team environment. A valid Nova Scotia Driver's License and a three (3) year clean driving record is essential. Knowledge of a second language and knowledge of Canadian post-secondary curriculum will be considered assets.
