What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources Development, the Employment Officer provides assistance in the development, coordination, promotion and implementation of NBCC's employment strategies. Specifically the Employment Officer advertises position vacancies; coordinates the hiring process; participates, in a lead role, in the selection and reassignment of employees; and prepares appropriate documentation in support of the recruitment process.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing and posting notices and advertisements; screening applications and working with hiring managers to develop list of candidates for interviews; coordinating testing as part of the recruitment process as required; serving as the lead for hiring boards; coordinating interviews; conducting post-interview reference checks; notifying candidates of results of selection process and preparing job offers; tracking measurable facets of the recruitment and hiring process; setting continuous improvement goals; advising on changes to NBCC's recruitment website; utilizing networks and social media in recruitment process; and advising managers and employees on recruitment policies and procedures, including onboarding policies.

What you'll need

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this opportunity include include a University degree specializing in Human Resources; OR a 2-year Diploma in Business specializing in Human Resources with a minimum of two (2) years of related experience; OR a combination of Human Resource training and experience.

Other requirements include, demonstrated experience in the provision of excellent client service, and knowledge of relevant employment laws and practices. Successful candidates must also have the ability to travel within the Province of New Brunswick; work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks. The ability to build and maintain effective relationships, partnerships, and networks with internal and external stakeholders is an essential requirement of this position. Candidates must clearly demomstrate these qualifications.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from 40,170 - $56,082.
