Our premises are within the Purdy's Wharf complex which provides amenities such as an on-site daycare and fitness centre. Our office is connected to the downtown pedway system and situated on Halifax's beautiful waterfront providing easy access to ferry and bus transit hubs, banks, restaurants, and shopping.

The opportunity

Position Summary:

We are seeking to fill two Employer Services Analyst positions that manage the collection, processing, validation, analysis, and reconciliation of member data for the Public Service Superannuation Plan (PSSP) and the Teachers' Pension Plan (TPP).

In this role, the Analyst provides guidance to participating employers to ensure data is captured and recorded accurately through the review and analysis of validation reports. Member and employer-matched pension contributions are reconciled, and anomalies investigated. The Analyst supports client-facing teams through in-depth analysis of member data and performs pensionable service and contribution calculations with varying degrees of complexity.

What you need to be successful

  • High school completion plus 5 years of related experience, or an acceptable equivalent. Post-secondary education in office/business technology, finance or accounting programs is preferred.
  • Related experience may include the collection, quality control and analysis of detailed data, and investigation to resolve discrepancies.
  • Previous experience in group benefits administration, insurance or payroll are an asset.
  • Intermediate competency with Microsoft Excel is required, including the proven ability to work with large files requiring formatting, sorting, and formulas for example.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.

Job Status: Permanent Full Time; unionized (NSGEU)

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 35-hour work week

Salary Range: $2193.65 - $2510.79 (bi-weekly)
