We are seeking an Electronics Technologist/Technician to support our growing business. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced team environment and would be interested in contributing to the direction of future Kraken products.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Cable harness assembly and verification
  • Assembly of electronic chassis
  • Installation and wiring of electrical bulkheads
  • Complete incoming checks on sensor and electronic components
  • Create build logs, build procedures and other required documentation
  • Support testing of various products within production
  • Mechanical assembly
  • Soldering

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Engineering Technology, or other Technical Diploma with experience.
  • Electronics assembly and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with assembling and testing of wiring harnesses
  • Experience in the installation and connection methods of electrical equipment
  • Demonstrated technical skills along with a proven track record for success.
  • Experience with quality assurance and quality control procedures (QA & QC)
  • Experience in use and maintenance of electronic test equipment
  • Experience in the use of inventory systems
  • Strong written and oral communications skills (technical reporting and engineering documentation)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as effectively within a team environment
  • High degree of organization, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Appreciation of other engineering disciplines (mechanical and software)

Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset:

  • Experience installing and operating electronics equipment in an ocean environment
  • Experience with sonar systems and acoustic signal processing
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting software systems
  • Experience in a shop environment, specifically with hand tools
  • Experience in through hole and surface mount soldering
  • Familiarity with proper shop safety practices
