• Develop and design PCB boards and subsystems for underwater vehicles and sensors
• Direct activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements
• Establish design criteria for projects using required codes and standards
• Participate in the design review process
• Work with the Production department to provide technical assistance during the manufacturing process
• Work with customers to understand project requirements and provide operational support while in the field

• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent engineering discipline with 5 years minimum experience.
• Experience in high speed digital circuit design, Analog Circuit Design and RF communications
• Experience designing sub-sea or marine based electrical systems (Acoustically focused system design is considered an asset)
• Experience designing systems that utilize FPGAs
• Experience in Firmware development for microcontroller and FPGA applications (Experience with STM32 based systems is considered an asset)
• A proven track record of board design, bring-up and troubleshooting
• Excellent design standards and strong troubleshooting skills
• Effectively focus on high level project objectives while executing detailed design tasks
• Incredible attention to detail
• Demonstrated technical skills along with a proven track record for success.
• Experience in the design specification, installation and connection methods of electrical equipment
• Create and maintain electrical drawings
• Design and review PCB Fab drawings, PCB Assembly drawings and provide input into new product designs.
• Strong written and oral communications skills (technical reporting)
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Must be able to work independently, as well as effectively within a team environment
• High degree of organization, with the ability to prioritize task
• Experience with the following would be considered an asset:
  • Experience with Sonar systems especially in an ocean environment
  • Experience with Autonomous Underwater Vehicles
  • Electronics assembly and troubleshooting
  • Appreciation of other engineering disciplines (Hardware, Digital and Analog Electronics)
