Develop a full understanding of legacy products, suggest improvements to products and manufacturing processes;

Participate in all aspects of product design (new and legacy products) from concept through system design, component design, component testing, system testing, evaluation and successful production;

Assisting with drawing package development and handbook technical literature;

Working within a team environment, both locally and with a broader remote team;

Ensuring quality and cost of new product design;

May be involved in system installation and implementation;

Responding to client requests;

Supporting the internal departments;

May be representing the company through direct customer contact and at events such as industry conferences, trade shows and presentation of technical papers.

Some prior experience in Sonar system design and operation, or knowledge of the fundamentals;

Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Electrical Engineering;

Previous experience in the design of electronic equipment would be an asset;

Knowledge of MTBF predication techniques;

Knowledge of equipment ventilation and cooling, and calculation of semiconductor junction temperature;

A solid grounding in the fundamentals of mathematics, physics, engineering, material science and computer science;

General knowledge of manufacturing processes used in light industry, including computer aided manufacturing would be an advantage;

Knowledge and experience with computer-based measurement systems, especially sampling theory and fourier analysis;

Knowledge of analog electronics including operational amplifiers and filters;

Proficiency in AC circuit analysis;

Experience with multiple computer programming languages such as C, C++, Java, LabView, MatLab and Excel;

Ability to work well within a team and independently;

Proven problem solving and analytical skills;

Communication skills;

Defense program management experience would be an advantage.
