COLLEGE OF EXTENDED LEARNING
The College of Extended Learning (CEL) is the University's primary lifelong learning outreach vehicle and carries critical community-building and revenue-generation functions. CEL is an educational, entrepreneurial unit of UNB that contributes to the province's economic, social, and cultural life by providing educational programs and services to a broad spectrum of learners within New Brunswick and beyond its borders. Four programming units and three core services units comprise CEL.

Salary Range: $51,479 - $66,922 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Manager of Instructional Design & Development, the e-Learning Developer is an integral part of the Online Development unit, providing CEL and UNB with expertise in getting courses produced online. This position provides development support, technical support, and multimedia support for producing and maintaining professional web content, the learning management system, multimedia products and end-user support issues.
- Create and develop web content. Convert source course content to an online format.
- Complete web programming and authoring, audio and video editing, multimedia production, web design, etc.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative teams to understand eLearning content requirements.
- Design and develop interactive and engaging eLearning modules and courses.
- Provide technical support, training, evaluation, and expertise to colleagues, instructors, staff, and students.
- Support web-based conferencing services related to the online course delivery experience.
- Monitor incoming support requests from staff, students, and clients. Follow up on issues as needed.
- Provide graphic and web design support for CEL's marketing projects (print materials and online).
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Post-Secondary Diploma in Web Development, eLearning Development, Information Technology, Multimedia Design, Computer Science or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in any or all the following: web development (HTML, CSS - JS preferred), content editing, multimedia design & production, online course development and technical support.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Strengths
- Previous experience in online course development and instructional design is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in JavaScript is considered a strong asset.
- Customer-focused mindset for technical support duties in an eLearning setting.
- Familiarity with web development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) would be considered an asset.
