The Department of Astronomy and Physics at Saint Mary's University seeks to hire an eight-month term-limited full-time faculty member from 1 September 2021 to 30 April 2022. Appointments are normally at the Assistant Professor level for candidates with a Ph.D. and at the Lecturer level for candidates with an M.Sc. The teaching load is 2.5 FCE (five courses) for those with a Ph.D. and 3.0 FCE (six courses) for those with an M.Sc.

The Department offers undergraduate programs in physics and astrophysics as well as both M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in astronomy. Saint Mary's is committed to excellence in teaching, and the Department seeks candidates with experience and enthusiasm for preparing and teaching core undergraduate courses in both physics and astronomy at the 2nd year undergraduate level and above.
