About the Opportunity

The Research Coordinator position will oversee and partake in Dr. Metsala's research and dissemination activities including: research ethics, grant applications and reports; research planning and material preparation; coordination of data collection sites, participant recruitment and testing; training and overseeing research assistants or students; database management; preparation of research publications; coordinate and manage research and dissemination web-based and in person meetings and events.

• Advanced degree (Masters) in psychology, education, social or health sciences (BSc/BA with equivalent experience in a research setting in the fields of education, psychology, or educational assessment will be considered).
• Demonstrated skills with research coordination, including study preparation, recruitment of sites/schools and research participants, and working with participants in data collection.
• Experience with research ethics applications.
• Excellent interpersonal and writing skills to communicate effectively and professionally with research team, principals, teachers and other professionals, child and adult research participants and their families.
• Motivated and able to work independently with excellent organizational skills to set priorities, meet deadlines, and to manage multiple research and dissemination projects at once.
• Experience with data analysis software (SPSS) and Microsoft applications.
• Knowledge and experience with quantitative research, and reading and contributing to literature reviews.
• Knowledge of language and reading development and instruction and of learning disabilities an asset
• Experience with data collection systems (e.g., Simple Survey) and web platforms an asset
• Bilingual in French language an asset
• Access to reliable transportation for data recruitment and collection is necessary

Classification: One-year renewable contract (.8 or 1.0 FTE negotiable)
Starting Salary: $26- 30 per hour, depending on education & experience
Start Date: March 15 (negotiable)
